Event Summary
The Friends of the Library Adult Spelling Bee is back! Join us at Harrigan Centennial Hall on Wednesday, February 24th at 7 PM to flex your spelling muscles and help support your local library. The fee to enter is $20 per person, with all proceeds going to the Friends of Sitka Public Library. Individuals and two-person teams are welcome, and masks and social distancing will be in place. The Science Center education staff and Sitka Tribe of Alaska culture-bearer Chuck Miller, offer a mobile event, Science On the Go for Youth, Wednesdays from 1-2 p.m. This event connects science, culture and art with hands-on activities. The Affordable Care Act Health Insurance Marketplace is open for enrollment for 2021 health coverage through Saturday, May 15. Sign up is at healthcare.gov. Park is OPEN
National Historical Park's Visitor Center is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays for the rest of the winter. The trails are open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Park film, Voices of Sitka, is shown at 11 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and Jr. Ranger books and badges are available. Visitors are to maintain social distance and wear a mask when that isn’t possible while in the facility.
