Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The marine vessels Kennicott and Hubbard collided Friday morning, according to the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities.

Department official Sam Dapcevich said the Kennicott collided with the Hubbard while docking in Ketchikan at 4:25 a.m.   He said the Kennicott was just heading into its annual overhaul. It was attempting to dock and it bumped into the Hubbard.  "The incident is still under investigation and they're still assessing the damage, but  so far it looks like the damage is pretty minor."

He said the Coast Guard was notified.

No crew members were injured during the incident.

They do not anticipate the damage will impact project timelines or return to service dates for either vessel so it's thought the incident will not impact future Marine Highway schedules.

The Kennicott is just now entering its annual overhaul project and the Hubbard is scheduled to begin a  project to construct crew quarters on board.
