Anchorage, Alaska (KINY) - Starting on Tuesday, Dec. 2, the Municipality of Anchorage will return to "hunker down" mode to combat COVID-19.

During a Wednesday press conference, Acting Mayor Austin Quinn-Davidson announced the city will see new restrictions during December.

According to the Anchorage Daily News, beginning at 8 a.m. on Dec. 2, bars and restaurants will cease sit-down services and be restricted to takeout, delivery and outdoor dining only.

Retail and other public-facing businesses, including gyms and salons, will be limited to 25% of their capacity, and retail businesses must be able to keep people from different household groups at least 6 feet apart.

Personal care services can no longer provide services like beard trimmings or facials that require a person to temporarily remove a mask.

Theaters, bingo halls and other indoor entertainment facilities will remain closed.

The closures will remain in place for one month.
