
Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting 31 new individuals with COVID-19 in Juneau – 29 are residents and two are nonresidents.
The cases came in between Nov. 21-23. Public Health is attributing 11 of the resident cases to secondary transmission, seven to community spread, two to out-of-state travel, and the rest are under investigation.
The nonresident cases are under investigation.
The University of Alaska Southeast cluster is still at eight cases – one is active and seven have recovered. One of the recovered students is no longer in Juneau.
Cumulatively, Juneau has had 732 residents test positive for COVID-19 since March and 112 nonresidents. There are 71 active cases in Juneau and 769 individuals have recovered. All individuals with active cases of COVID-19 are in isolation. There are currently two people with COVID-19 hospitalized at Bartlett Regional Hospital.
Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services today reports 503 new people with COVID-19 – 501 are residents and two are nonresidents.
The state reported two new resident deaths over the weekend – a male Anchorage resident in his 60s and a female Anchorage resident in her 80s – bringing the total number of deaths, resident and nonresident, to 103.
Alaska has had 27,085 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 1,188 nonresidents.
