
Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center is reporting six new residents identified with COVID-19.
Two are not currently in Juneau.
Public Health is attributing those cases to out-of-state travel.
Of the four in Juneau, two are attributed to community spread, one to secondary transmission, and one is under investigation.
Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services Wednesday reports 167 new people identified with COVID-19.
157 are residents and 10 are nonresidents.
The state also reports 24 deaths, one recent death and 23 discovered from death certificate reviews over the past several months, bringing the total number of resident deaths to 251.
Alaska has had 50,732 cumulative resident cases of COVID-19 and a total of 1,661 nonresidents.
According to Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, 3,044 people in the Juneau region have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 726 have completed both doses.
Statewide, 59,392 people have received their first dose and 13,270 have completed both doses.
