Sitka, Alaska (KINY) - The Sitka Assembly has approved a letter of hire for Craig Warren as the next fire chief in the borough.
The Assembly made the offer of employment for the position of chief on Tuesday night.
If he accepts, Warren would receive a starting salary of $103,916.80 per year, plus benefits.
A starting date is proposed for Oct. 1.
“Congratulations, Craig,” wrote CBS Administrator John Leach. “Thank you for your continued service to the City and Borough of Sitka and its citizens.”
Warren has almost 29 years of experience in the Sitka Fire Department and has been a part of every division in the department. He joined the department when he was 18 years old.
In other personnel news, Wayne Young was appointed to a three-year term on the Police and Fire Commission. Wendy Alderson was appointed to an unexpired term on the Planning Commission, and Vaughn Morrison retained his seat on the Gary Paxton Industrial Park Board of Directors.
