
Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - 33 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Juneau today, by the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, 32 were residents and 1 was a non-resident. There are currently 2 people hospitalized with COVID at Bartlett Regional Hospital.
Juneau Public Health (JPH) reported these generalized case trends for the past week:
The age range of positive cases is from 1 to 80 years old; of the active cases, approximately 46 are under the age of 12, and 57 are under the age of 18. JPH also continues to see entire families test positive in quick succession.
The Juneau School District reports six new individuals who’ve tested positive for COVID-19 and were infectious while in school:
One at Floyd Dryden Middle School, one at Dzantik’i Heeni Middle School, three at Juneau-Douglas High School,
and one at Riverbend Elementary, resulting in most of one class being quarantined.
Statewide, 475 new cases were reported, 464 were residents and 11 were nonresidents.
The state also reported 16 recent deaths, bringing the total number of resident deaths to 590.
