
Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - 39 new resident cases of COVID-19 were reported in Juneau today, by the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services. There is currently 1 person hospitalized with COVID at Bartlett Regional Hospital.
According to Juneau Public Health, there are about 188 active cases and three current clusters. 1 cluster is associated with a sports team, 1 is associated with a church, and 1 is associated with childcare.
Of the active cases, approximately 50 are younger than 12 years old, and 65 are younger than 18
The Juneau School District reports 7 new individuals who’ve tested positive for COVID-19 and were infectious while in school.
1 at Mendenhall River Community School resulting in the quarantine of some close contacts, 1 at Thunder Mountain High School and 1 at Yaakoosgé Daakahídi High School reported late yesterday.
JSD also reported 4 cases today, 1 at Thunder Mountain High School, 2 at Auke Bay Elementary school resulting in 1 class being quarantined, and 1 at Riverbend Elementary resulting in the quarantine of some close contacts.
Statewide 1,239 new cases were reported, 1,220 were residents and 19 were nonresidents.
The DHSS did not report any recent deaths.
