
Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Juneau has officially moved into a “moderate” COVID 19 health risk
Deputy City Manager Mila Cosgrove, says cases are going down. "Our trend line is moving steeply down and that is exactly what we want to do."
Over the past two weeks, cases have gone down by over 30. "Overall yet we've gone from 40ish cases down to ten today", she said.
Cosgrove warns that it’s still too early to say we avoided a surge from the holidays. "At this point, it doesn't look like we got a bump from the holidays. We're probably about another week away from declaring victory over the holidays. So we'll be keeping an eye out on that."
There are about 26 thousand people over the age of 16 in Juneau. People over 16 are eligible to get the COVID 19 vaccine
