Man drowns in boating mishap

    Aleknagik, Alaska (KINY) - Alaska State Troopers said George Van Vleet, 62, was found dead after a search and rescue operation.

    Troopers said the victim's boat was found operating with no one on board.

    Troopers learned that Van Vleet had not returned when expected and that a search and rescue operation was underway.

    Troopers said the apparent cause of death is drowning but the investigation is ongoing.
