Recipients of unemployment insurance are receiving bogus messages

    Thursday, July 22nd, 2021 6:48am

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Fraudulent test and email messages are being sent to people in regards to the unemployment insurance program administered by the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

Commissioner Dr. Tamika Ledbetter says the messages advise recipients that their benefits can't be paid due to incorrect information on file.  The messages instruct them to click on the provided links to resolve the issue. The department advises recipients not to do so.

Anyone with questions is advised to contact the UI Claim Call Center in Juneau at 907-465-5552.  Recipients outside of Juneau can call 888-252-2557
