
Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Alaska Department of Health & Social Services reported a rising positive test rate, and rising hospitalizations due to COVID-19 in their daily report released Wednesday.
The positive test rate in the past week is now 2.45 percent. There have been 250 people hospitalized and there are 39 patients currently hospitalized who are COVID-19 positive.
The report showed 50 new resident cases with 20 in Anchorage, one in Soldotna, two in the Kenai Peninsula Borough, 12 in Fairbanks, seven in North Pole, two in Palmer, one in Wasilla, one in Utqiagvik, one in Kotzebue, one in Juneau, and one in Bristol Bay.
The report listed 2,198 recovered and 4,202 active cases of Alaska residents.
The state also reported two new nonresident cases.
The report found 313 cases of Alaskans 10 years old and younger, 662 of those between the age of 10 and 19, 1,603 between the ages of 20 and 29, and 1,222 cases of patients between the age of 30 and 39.
