Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - COVID 19 vaccines are being rolled out to Juneau community members.
They're available for health care workers and people over 65, but not everyone who signed up for the city’s vaccination clinic this weekend got an appointment
At the COVID update on Tuesday, Juneau Public Health Nurse Manager Ali Gottschlich, says a similar event is on its way. "People want their vaccine and I understand that people are really anxious and want it. Please know that we want to get the vaccine out as fast as humanely possible in an efficient, smooth manner and we are working really hard to try to do that for you."
She says covidvax.alaska.gov will show appointments as they become available at other providers in Juneau
In the meantime, Gottschlich urges patience while vaccines are administered. She said they are probably going to have to do another large clinic which is a very efficient way to get the vaccine out quickly. She advised watching for local announcements and the state website for other availabilities.
