Falcons Sandlot Boys Nip Kings 10-9

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Thunder Mountain High School Falcons baseball team scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 10-9 lead and held on for a win against the visiting Ketchikan Kings, Thursday, at Adair Kennedy Field.

  Ketchikan led 9-6 as the Falcons came to bat in the last of the sixth. TMHS senior Preston Williams led off with a single, sophomore Kasen Ludeman singled, sophomore Kaeden Quinto singled scoring Williams and senior Noah Chambers earned a walk to load the bases. Senior Peyton Lewis sacrificed in Ludeman and Quinto and Chambers both scored on wild pitch errors for the 10-9 advantage.

  Ketchikan scored three runs in the top of the first inning, two in the second innings, one in the fourth and three in the sixth.

  TMHS scored one run in the bottom of the first inning with Ludeman hitting into a double play that scored senior Isaiah Nelson.

  In the bottom of the second inning Nelson sacrificed in sophomore Anthony Andersen. In the bottom of the fourth inning senior Matthew Hartsock, Nelson, Williams and Ludeman all scored for a 6-6 tie game.

  Quinto and Lewis had two runs batted in apiece, Nelson, Williams, Ludeman and Chambers one each. Nelson had three hits, Williams, Ludeman and Quinto two each, Lewis, Anderson, junior Rory Hayes and Hartsock one each. Nelson, Williams and Ludeman scored two runs each, Quinto, Chambers, Andersen and Hartsock one each. Chambers earned two walks, Williams, Ludeman, Quinto, Lewis and Hayes one each.

  Nelson started for the Falcons and went 5.1 innings, allowed four hits and nine runs, struck out three batters and walked six. Chambers relieved for 1.2 innings and struck out three and walked one.

  Ketchikan’s Jesse Loughman went six innings, allowed 13 hits and 10 runs, struck out two and walked seven.

  Colby Hanchey scored four runs for the Kings, Bubba Williams, Zach Hanchey, Kyan Kinger, Mickey Lapinski and Jonathan Scoblic one each. Hanchey, Loughman, Z. Hanchey and Lapinski had one hit each.

  TMHS will host Ketchikan at 4 p.m. today and again at 7 p.m. The Falcons will honor their senior teammates at 6:30 p.m. tonight.

She slipped a pass along to classmate Kyla Bentz, who put the ball past the Houston Hawks' keeper for the team’s fourth score in what would be a 6-0 clean sheet.

  Anchorage, Alaska (KINY) - The Thunder Mountain High School boys soccer team’s opening match at the 2022 ASAA state soccer championships at Anchorage’s West High School may as well been the Juneau Soccer Club’s victory over Whitehorse five years ago. That was the first time Falcons seniors Talon Briggs and Wallace Adams connected for a goal.

  Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Juneau-Douglas High School: Yadaa.at Kalé Crimson Bears and Thunder Mountain High School Falcons softball teams lost their opening games at the Southeast Region V Championships in Ketchikan on Wednesday and will face each other in an elimination game today, while the Crimson Bears baseball team put the Falcons sandlot boys into an elimination game as well.
