Sitka Tribe CARES Act Housing & Temporary Shelter Assistance
The Sitka Tribe of Alaska is pleased to offer Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act need based assistance for Tribal Citizen/ AK Native or American Indian Sitka community households impacted by the COVID pandemic. The assistance available is $500 per household paid directly to a vendor to cover the mortgage, rent, utilities, heating fuel, or boat moorage costs, invoice verification is required and must be submitted with the application. This funding will also assist with those experiencing homelessness with temporary shelter. There is a separate application for this type of assistance. Applications will be accepted until July 31, 2021. Please go to sitkatribe.org for the application. Or please bring a previous or current invoice/bill (oil,utilities,rent,moorage, mortgage) to 456 Katlian St. for social services with your phone number on it; we will call and complete the online application with you over the phone. 66th Annual Sitka Salmon Derby ***Updated ticket prices***
This years 66th Sitka Salmon Derby to be held on Memorial Day weekend, May 29th, 30th, 31st, and the following weekend June 5th and 6th. Friends and family have always enjoyed the fun times on the water while searching for that prize winning king. Some great news from Alaska Fish and Game announce that Alaskan Residents bag and possession limit is 3 kings, 28 inches or greater in length. Tickets are now available at Orion Sporting Goods & LFS Marine Supply One Day $20 Two Days $25 Three Days $30 Four Days $35 All 5 Days $40 Family Five Day $70 The Family fee covers only the parents or grandparents and their children or grandchildren ages 6 - 17. There will be no refund once the ticket has been purchased
